Welcome to our second episode of Mindful Movements Yoga with Swenja Tanner. Our first week was met with a very nice start and to welcome back people who not only enjoy the body movement and exercise, but the quiet and mindfulness that comes along with the ancient practice is an incredible outlet for self care. If you’re just getting started, don’t worry for a second. Like anything, it might feel a little weird at first, and some of the concepts might be a little different….but with practice and attention, you’re going to find in short order, that this is GOOD, and it’s good for the long term.
This week begins by just breathing. Yep. Quiet and serenity to calm the mind a little. Novel idea huh? We could all use some more of that in our lives. As you slow down and just breathe, you’ll begin to move toward some hip movements and gradually move through your entire body. It’s about working to your potential. Hey, not everyone is going to be able to stretch like a seasoned yoga teacher if they are new to the practice, give yourself the grace. Work with the idea of progress in mind and eventually what feels awkward will feel natural and things that might make you shy away from a practice will be commonplace because you learned them in a judgement free space…and maybe, this moves on into a yoga experience with others! They happen and those who do try groups, sometimes make life long friends.
Speaking of which, Swenja also books travel experiences for her yoga squad. The next trip is coming up in short order. So short of notice, it might be a little difficult to get you in on the Sedona and Costa Rica trips she’s got planned in the next few weeks, but this will be a great place to keep an eye on upcoming opportunities for other adventures that you will be sure to enjoy and learn on.
