Saturday is a great time to spend with some self care and serenity.  Swenja Tanner is here weekly to bring you Mindful Movements Yoga on Muskegon, Better and with spring in full bloom, lakeside is where you’ll find her.  Not only is the lakeside setting pretty tranquil, it’s a preview of some of the events she hopes to build this summer as she settles in to her home in Cedar Creek Township.  It will be a wonderful gathering spot for any yoga participant.

This week, Swenja is on the matt, on the ground and helping you along with the idea of yoga and the connections we all share to the earth.  The moving and stretching is minimal this week, but highly effective and the idea of the breathing, meditating and reflecting while allowing yourself the break is the key.  Yoga offers many benefits, and while the stretching and differing poses are an essential part, so is the realization of the importance of your overall well being.  This is certainly your week for a zen approach to starting off your weekend.

Remember, with any physical activity, it’s important to know your limits.  Swenja is a long time practitioner of yoga.  If you are new to the experience, take your time to get into the motions and don’t over do it.  Injuring yourself is the fastest way to ruin an amazing experience that will only enrich your life for years to come.  Keep in mind too as your progression continues, that adding a healthy eating habit will add a lot to you’re program as will upping your physical fitness in other ways.  On the Muskegon Channel, we have a weekly feature called Fit and Healthy With Becky and you’ll find a great new weekly work out there.

Swenja doesn’t have travel adventures booked, but…..stay tuned.  She’s bursting to get the shared experience of yoga lakeside going in groups and sharing the natural setting.
